This explains how Halfsaid handles the information you give us when you join the waitlist. We’ve kept it plain.
Who we are
This website (halfsaid.app) and its waitlist are operated by [your legal entity name], based in Estonia (“Halfsaid”, “we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@halfsaid.app.
What this policy covers
This covers only the waitlist website. The Halfsaid app is still in development and isn’t available yet; when it launches it will have its own separate privacy policy that you’ll see before you use it. None of the app’s data is collected or processed here.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address — so we can tell you when Halfsaid is ready.
- Your choice about updates — whether you opted in to occasional news (yes or no).
- Optional platform preference — iOS, Android, both, or not sure, if you pick one.
- Your age confirmation — that you are 18 or older.
- Basic technical details sent with your signup — the date and time, the page and referring link you came from, any campaign tags, and your browser’s language and time zone. We use these to prevent spam and to understand where signups come from.
We don’t ask for your name, and we don’t collect any private thoughts, relationship details, partner information, intimate preferences, or payment details on this website.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your email to contact you about the launch and — only if you opted in — to send occasional updates. Under the EU/UK GDPR, our legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form; you can withdraw it at any time (see “Your rights”). For the basic technical details, we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the form free from abuse.
What we don’t do
- We do not sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it with advertisers.
- We show no advertising, set no cookies, and don’t track you across the web.
- We only ever use your data for the waitlist. Our fonts are served from our own server — no font or advertising requests are made.
Who processes data for us
A few providers process data on our behalf:
- Google — waitlist entries are stored in a private Google Sheet via Google Apps Script. Google acts as our processor and may process the data on servers in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
- Zone Media (zone.ee) — our website host, in Estonia (EU). Their servers may briefly log your IP address for security and reliability.
- Cloudflare — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and how the pages perform. It is cookieless and does not identify you, use unique identifiers, or build a profile; Cloudflare processes your IP address momentarily to estimate a country, then discards it.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist information until the app launches and we’ve invited you, or until you ask us to delete it or you unsubscribe — whichever comes first. If the project doesn’t proceed, we delete the list.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email hello@halfsaid.app to see what we hold, correct it, delete it, or unsubscribe.
In the EU, UK, or EEA, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to our use of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
In California and other US states with privacy laws, you have the right to know what we collect, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — though we do not sell or share it. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Security
We keep the waitlist to the minimum data needed and limit who can access it. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Age
Halfsaid is for adults. This website and waitlist are not directed to anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a minor has signed up, email us and we’ll remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and for significant changes affecting people already on the list, we’ll let you know by email.
